Sarai Alamgir: (the znn) A two-member gang was arrested in Sarai Alamgir area of Gujarat district for hacking cards by installing secret devices on ATMs.
A case was registered against a citizen who came to withdraw money from an ATM machine at Khambi stop area of Saddar Sarai police station and search for the accused was started at Saddar Sarai Alamgir police station.
According to the district police spokesman, two accused involved in the incident, namely Qadeer Abbas and Tauseef Abbas, will be arrested. During the interrogation, the accused revealed that they had also hacked ATM cards before.
According to the police, the accused used to enter the ATM machines of different banks and put hidden cameras and their boxes at the place where the cards were inserted. We would save the code entered by him and after he left, we would enter the ATM and spray on the camera attached to the bank to hide our identity, after which the card would be taken out of the machine. Later he would go to Gujarat or any other city and withdraw money through card.
The accused further confessed to the crime and further revealed that we had also come to this ATM machine to withdraw money through hacked card and after seeing the bag full of rupees of the citizen, they had an affair with him and fled with the money.
Also recovered from the possession of the accused were 1 laptop, machine box, hidden camera, memory cards, USB, fingerprint lifting tape, spray, cutter, 1 rifle 223 bore and 1 7mm rifle. Further investigation of the accused is underway.
