AJK president stresses on early, amicable solution of Kashmir dispute

Muzaffarabad/ MIRPUR [AJK], (ZNN TV) : Stressing the need for early and amicable solution of Kashmir dispute, the President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that it was high time that the international community should intensify its efforts to settle the long-pending conflict. The AJK President said this while speaking to a team of trainee officers of National Defence University Islamabad that called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. Speaking on the occasion Barrister Chaudhary while referring to the volatile situation in the region said that any mishap, no matter how small or big in scale, could lead to a nuclear confrontation between two south Asian nuclear neighbours, who he said have already fought three wars over Kashmir. He said that the international community must not leave the two nuclear powers to their fate as any incident could be a prelude to a major Indo-Pak war that could jeopardize peace in the world.“It is, therefore, essentially important that the international community should come forward and redouble its efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue”, Barrister Chaudhary said.Pertinently, the visiting team was comprised of 50 officers hailing from 19 countries including USA, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Nepal, Palestine and Myanmar.On the occasion, the AJK President apprised them of the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and the political and administrative structure of Azad Kashmir. He also highlighted the investment opportunities in Azad Kashmir.
