Umar Gul appointed Afghanistan Bowling coach
KABUL: Pakistan’s legendary pace bowler Umar Gul has been appointed Afghanistan men’s national cricket team’s bowling coach, it emerged Friday.
According to media reports, Umar Gul will join Afghan team’s camp on April 4.
A cricket website on Friday quoted Umar Gul as saying that he will join Afghanistan cricket team’s camp in Abu Dhabi on April 4.
News report further revealed that an agreement in this regard has been reached between the former Pakistan pace-ace and Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) for three weeks.
“After coaching at PSL, KPL, LPL and domestic level, it is a pleasure to be associated with an international team. I will try my best to help the Afghan bowlers with my experience,” The website quoted Umar Gul as saying.
Remember, former England batsman Graham Thorpe was named head coach of Afghanistan few days back.
