Kashmir-born veteran medico Dr. Salim Nizami laid to rest in UK:

MIRPUR (AJK),(ZNN TV) : Illustrious Britain-based Kashmir-origin medico – Dr. Salim Nizami, (Retd) Registrar / Head of Accident and Emergency Whiston Hospital Merseyside (United Kingdom) laid to rest on Friday in local graveyard in Merseyside (Liverpool). The 83-year-old Dr. Nizami, originally hailing from Jammu city (now Indian occupied) and presently from Mirpur Azad Jammu Kashmir  had breathed his last after  brief illness for being  chronic diabetic patient since over past three decades. Hundreds of people hailing from various segments of the society including from medical fraternity, UK-based Pakistani and Kashmiri Diaspora community, family members and friends attended the funeral prayer besides visiting his residence at Raihill to offer fateha for the departed soul.

He left behind a son – Dr. Adeel and a widow in his survivors. Later Dr. Salim Nizami was the eldest son of an illustrious worker of Pakistan and Kashmir freedom movement, elderly Kashmiri writer journalist and intellectual Late Abdul Hamid Nizami, eldest brother of veteran journalist and Retd. Director News PTV Late Mumtaz Hamid Rao,  senior Kashmiri journalist  –  Resident Editor Daily Parliament Times in AJK  Altaf Hamid Rao, Pioneer AJK PWD Officer in Mirpur late Rao Ijaz Ahmed Shad and (Retd) AVP National Bank of Pakistan Waris Hamid Nizami.

Meanwhile, according to an official handout issued by AJK government, AJK State President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, AJK minister for information, law and justice Sardar Faheem Akhter Rubbani, AJK govt. Information Secretary Mrs. Midhat Shehzad, Director General Public Relations AJK government Raja Azhar Iqbal and other senior officials of the State government have expressed deep sense of shock and grief over the demise of Dr. Salim Nizami. In their separate messages of condolence, they prayed for the rest of the departed soul in eternal peace and grant of fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss with courage.

Amjad Iqbal, ADC (G) Yasir Riaz, President Insaf Traders Wing Raja Khalid Mahmood Khan, ex President Mirpur District Cricket Association Nawaz Rattayal, Ex city Mayor and Advisor fo AJK Government Ch. Muhammad Ashraf, Dr. Tahir Mahmood President NGO’s Coordination Council, Dr. Khalid Yousaf of Jinnah Medical Complex, President CUJ Zafeer Baba, ex President CUJ Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai, Member Board of Governors of AJK Press Foundation Khalid Chaudhry, ex Secretary Generals of  Kashmir Press Club Sohrab Ahmed Khan and Shujah Jirral, ex President KPC Sajjad Jirral, senior banker Agha Shabber Hussain and other city elders Waqas Ashraf, Mirza Rashed Beg, Divisional Director PID Mirpur Div. Javed Malik have also expressed grief over the sad demise of Dr. Salim Nizmi. They visited the local residence of his brother senior journalist Altaf Hamid Rao and expressed sympathies with the befreaved family besides praying for the rest of the departed soul in heaven.
